When in Rome… Ride.

On our recent trip to Rome I spent several hours seeing the city on a rented bike.

The bike rental place – Top Bike Rental & Tours – was great. Extra nice people, quality equipment, and good value. You can join a guided tour of the city and other sights, or rent a bike for your personal use.

Seeing the city and its environs on a bike hits a sweet spot: you get around quickly, and you have the speed and mobility to easily explore places you might not get to on foot. (Examples: explored the small park at Villa Celimontana on the Caelian Hill, and saw a good long stretch of the Appian Way that is not accessible by car and too far to go on foot.)

Wish I had known about Top Bike Rental on previous trips to Rome – it’s now on my must-do list for any future visits.
