According to its website, Facebook ‘“is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them.”
It is also a place where teachers go to get in trouble. A Charlotte elementary school teacher recently got suspended for comments found on her Facebook page. See the Charlotte Observer article here.
The teacher in Charlotte may be guilty of being extra dumb, but her case can serve as a reminder that what we say and share on the internet can become a public record.
